About Me
wife, mother and animal lover
Meet Erica
In 2013, I left my information technology job in the corporate world to form a dog walking and pet sitting company, called Canine To Five. I wanted do something that involved my love for animals and help people at the same time. A few years later, in 2015 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Olivia.
It was late 2015 when I realized I just couldn’t juggle a baby and run a business. I was relying too heavily on my employees and it wasn’t going very well. No one provided the same quality of service that I did. As a result, I decided to end it because I was unable to dedicate the attention I wanted or my clients deserved. Three years later, I decided to do it again, only differently. With Canine to Five I had a lot of employees working for me. This time I just wanted it to be me. I want to be able to guarantee great service and that is the only way possible.
I grew up in suburban Chicago with dogs and cats and have always had a passion for animals. One of my first jobs was at a local veterinarian where I was a receptionist. I ended up spending more time with the animals than actually working. In 2008, I moved to Maryland with my husband. We have only lived in Gaithersburg since moving here and I cannot think of a better place to live and work. It really is a beautiful town and thanks to Wags to Whiskers, I am outside everyday enjoying it.
I also have a goldendoodle at home named Dexter. So not only am I a pet care provider, I am a pet owner. When I hire a pet sitter for my pets, I want to know who they are and I want the same person all the time. It is less stressful for the pets and the owners. I know the care I would expect for my pets and at Wags to Whiskers, I practice and demand the same high standards.
Your pets will be treated with love and respect, guaranteed.
